Black christian singles guide dating
This may be the biggest excuse men use for being lazy in relationships, much less finding one.German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer addresses this issue in a wedding sermon he wrote for his sister from a Nazi jail cell. Most are well intended and contain a nugget of truth. Dating is hard enough without sifting through all this erroneous information, so let's debunk some myths. There are plenty of them, but let's focus on what I believe are the top five myths that make dating harder for Christian men.Myth #1: "God has one woman picked out for you to marry. You are destined to be with her, and God will guide you to her." Good luck finding this one in the Bible.
Some Christians take a lot of comfort in the idea that God will do the heavy lifting when it comes to dating.
(And, we couldn’t be more proud.) Many of our readers have spoken out about their decisions to press pause on their sex lives and some expressed concern about how difficult dating can be once you’ve made the call. JEREMY BILLINGSLEY: One Sunday I was in church and the pastor was preaching about love and fornication and he was really trying to direct the sermon to the singles there, and I though to myself, outside of the church there really aren’t that many places where celibate singles can go that embraces that lifestyle and meet others on the same accord as them. BILLINGSLEY: Black is for anyone who is celibate or considering celibacy. We just want to bring those people together in a positive way.
Black founder Jeremy Billingsley noticed the same thing and put his entrepreneurial mind to work. Now as he continues to try to get the word out that Black is a convenient place to meet friends or lovers who share your values, Billingsley’s proud of what Black is offering our community. When like-minded singles can get together you’re going to get better results. And it’s for those looking to meet others with the same values.
God will tell them if a relationship is right, and God will end it if it's not.
All they have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride.
